In DriveWorks Pro, specifications are created either through DriveWorks Live or through the Specification Explorer in Administrator, User, or Autopilot. These specifications are variations on the original project CAD, along with other documents such as quotes and bills of materials.
Feature-based machining has great technical and operational benefits. Aligning our CAM methodology to our CAD workflows ensures that the part geometry is our source of truth, rather than G-Code on the machine. Since our geometry drives our operations both in the software and on the shop floor, we can ensure that our parts come out right the first time.
Antero 840CN03 is an engineered thermoplastic specifically designed for Stratasys F900 and Fortus 450mc FDM 3D printers. Antero 800NA is Stratasys' trade name for PEKK (of the same chemical family as PEEK), a robust thermoplastic known for its exceptional heat resistance, chemical resistance, and strength properties.
Let’s look at a major time-saver - using the Engineering Release app in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to change/add properties (metadata) to parts and assemblies that have already been saved to the platform. The Engineering Release app is included with the Product Release Engineer role. This is a role that can be added to your platform for certain users who need it. This role is considered the “BOM Release/Management” role, and its main purpose is to manage product definition from the early stages all the way to final validation.
In SOLIDWORKS, using a multibody part instead of an assembly can be beneficial in specific circumstances, such as increased performance over assemblies, bulk configuration creation, and sheet metal/weldment work. Multibody parts are especially useful when you have a bill of materials but no moving parts. If there are no kinematics to evaluate, the “assembly” can remain a multibody part.
Notifications in the vault alert users to different conditions in SOLIDWORKS PDM. This article explains the different types of notifications and how to set them up. It will also discuss how notifications are delivered to the user (whether in PDM or via email). When testing Notifications, PDM will not send a notification to the person who initiated an action. If you are sending a notification to the PDM admin, then log in as a different user to test sending the notification. Then, log back into the vault view as the PDM admin to see if they received it.
If you're looking to go beyond the standard attribute options available in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you're in the right place. In this post, we'll walk through the proper steps to create a custom attribute within the Physical Products tab, the most commonly used area for attribute creation.
Struggling to find the right file is never just a one-time inconvenience. If you dig through disorganized files once, you’ll do it again. A McKinsey study confirms this: employees spend an average of 23.2% of their week simply searching for the data they need. That's nearly a full day every week spent just trying to find a file, instead of designing.
In this article, you will learn how to display Alpha Numeric Rows and Columns for the borders of a schematic in SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic. First, let’s go over how title blocks are assigned. Go to the Library tab and then click on Title Block Management. Title blocks are grouped by classifications. You can choose a title block and edit it, or create a new one.
