SOLIDWORKS 2020 What’s New – Sketch Power Modify
Power Modify is a pen sketch mode that uses pen gestures to modify sketch geometry. The tool adds pink strokes that indicate where you want modifications such as adding fillets or trimming to take place.
Click or touch Power Modify (Sketch Ink tab).
In an active sketch, sketch your pen stroke using a touch screen and stylus pen.
Your pen stroke selects the edges for trimming.
You can sketch an arc on a corner with a pen stroke…
The option “Convert to sketch fillet” turns it into a fillet with a radius.
Another example would be to stroke a line at the corner…
The option “Convert to sketch chamfer” turns it into a chamfer with dimensions that you can edit the same way as always.
Split a line into 2 entities by stroking an “X”.
When you stroke 2 parallel lines across an entity, you can offset that entity.
I hope this part of the What’s New series gives you a better understanding of the new features and functions of SOLIDWORKS 2020. Please check back to the CATI Blog as the CATI Application Engineers will continue to break down many of the new items in SOLIDWORKS 2020. All these articles will be stored in the category of “SOLIDWORKS What’s New.”
