Resetting the SOLIDWORKS CAM/CAMWorks Command Manager Icons and Tabs
Sometimes when reinstalling or upgrading your SOLIDWORKS CAM or CAMWorks software, you may notice that you have some missing command icons and even worse, you may even find yourself missing entire tabs of commands on your command manager.
Before trying an uninstall or reinstall, or even a factory reset of your toolbars, try running the SOLIDWORKS CAM/CAMWorks command manager cleanup utility first. This tool allows you to reset just the CAM tabs and command icons without resetting everything else.
The cleanup utility can be found in a different location depending on which software you have installed.
Tech Tip: You MUST close SOLIDWORKS before running the CAM toolbar cleanup utility.
FOR SOLIDWORKS CAM USERS:
If you’re using SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard or Professional, you will find the cleanup utility in the following default location:
C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS CAM
And you will need to run the following executable:
swcamcommandmanagercleanuputility.exe
FOR CAMWORKS USERS:
If you’re using a CAMWorks license, you will find the default location here:
C:\Program Files\CAMWorks20XXx64\CAMWorks_VC14X
The executable name is:
CWCommandManagerCleanupUtility.exe
Tech Tip: Your file path may be different depending on install location and version being used.
Once you run either cleanup utility, go ahead and re-open SOLIDWORKS and load your CAM or CAMWorks add-in. Everything should be back to normal, but if not, go ahead and contact your local VAR and we’d be glad to help troubleshoot further.
