Creaform 3d Scan data inside of SOLIDWORKS Visualize
The last few months, we have been working with Creaform's line of 3D Scanning devices and we have been doing some amazing things. Today, I'd like to talk about the results of the Go!Scan 20 color white light scanner and its output to SOLIDWORKS Visualize. SOLIDWORKS Visualize as of February this year is included with every seat of SOLIDWORKS Professional or Premium. It is a standalone photorealistic rendering tool that can be installed on any computer in your company using an activation count equal to the number of Professional and Premium seats you have. Pretty sweet!
My first subject was a statue I purchased to be on a shelf in my office of the HULK. It is highly detailed and will be fun to scan with the Go!Scan 20. In about 10 minutes, I was able to get to a pretty complete model. Then, I used Creaform's VxModel software to fill the few holes that were needed to be filled. Here are the results.

Once I got the scan completed, I saved the model as a FBX file and imported it in Visualize.
In my next post, I'll show how I scanned my coworker Dan and did a replace face with Dan on the hulk
