SOLIDWORKS 2015 What’s New – Render mode as a Default Document Property in SOLIDWORKS Composer #SW2015
Every year when the SOLIDWORKS What's New PDF becomes available, I go straight for the Composer enhancements. As I look through the vast array(you know what I mean if you've seen the list) of new items, one particular enhancement jumped out at me the most. In SOLIDWORKS 2015, you now have the ability to let SOLIDWORKS Composer control the default rendering mode as a default document property. This is going to be a great improvement as you will no longer have to change your rendering mode from the Rendering toolbar. There is just one small catch – you must set a Windows System Variable to enable this great function. The following are screen shots of this process.
1.Go to Control panel and go into System
2.Next go to Advanced System Setting
3.Now on to Environment Variables
4.Click on New under System variables
5.Using the following syntax
Variable Name: DS_3DVC_OVERRIDE_RENDER_MODE
Variable Value: 1
6.Reboot the PC for System Variables to take effect.
