Newsroom Computer Aided Technology is Helping Iowa Manufacturers Navigate the Iowa Manufacturing 4.0 Investment Grant Program

Buffalo Grove, IL – October 7, 2021 – Computer Aided Technology (CATI) is partnering with Iowa organizations to help them navigate the grant program recently announced by the Iowa Department of Economic Development. Launched last month, the Iowa Department of Economic Development’s Manufacturing 4.0 Grant initiative has started accepting applications. The Manufacturing 4.0 Technology Investment Grant Program was developed to help keep Iowa’s small to mid-size manufacturers stay competitive with the global market.
Computer Aided Technology, a local provider of Stratasys 3D Printers and SOLIDWORKS CAD Software, has local a local team based out of West Des Moines, IA to help determine eligibility as well as make sure companies have the right manufacturing and product development solutions in place to increase productivity and efficiency.
The Grant Program is broken down into two categories – the Manufacturing Innovation Equipment Grant and the Manufacturing IIOT Infrastructure Investment Grant. Companies must meet certain requirements to be eligible for grants under either program.
Who is eligible? Iowa manufacturers with a minimum of 51% of their revenue derived from the sale of manufactured goods, fall in the range of 31-33 NAICS codes, with at least three employees, but fewer than 75 employees across all locations, and have been in operation for at least three years.
The Manufacturing Innovation Equipment Grant is for companies looking to purchase equipment for the manufacturing process. Equipment such as 3D Printers and Post Printing technologies along with 3D Scanners qualify as purchases in this category. The Manufacturing IIOT Grant can be used toward the purchase of specialized hardware or software – including CAD Software like SOLIDWORKS.
