SOLIDWORKS 2019 What's New - Projected Curves - #SW2019

In SOLIDWORKS 2019 projected curves now support multiple open or closed contours, can be projected onto multiple bodies, and a new bi-directional option is available to project in both directions.

You can create multiple closed or open contour projected curves in a single sketch

You can even use 3D sketches as the input in SOLIDWORKS 2019.

In earlier releases, you would need to create a separate sketch for each entity and then use the Projected Curve tool separately on each element.

The new bi-directional option in the Projected Curve PropertyManager projects sketches in two opposite directions, even if there are multiple bodies. Previously this would have required a second Projected Curve feature.

You can now also set a custom direction for projected curves, using a planar or linear reference such as an edge, sketch, plane, or a face.

Clearly the Projected Curve tool saw some much-appreciated love in SOLIDWORKS 2019, so thanks to all the users who voted for these enhancement requests!
