SolidWorks Simulation Premium: Nonlinear

The SolidWorks Simulation Software Non-Linear Training Course offers current users of SolidWorks Simulation Software an insight into the Non–Linear world. Attendees will learn how to deal with models that exhibit large displacements and/or yielding, discuss and practice the use of material models available in the non–linear package.

Classroom: 2 sessions, 7 hours each
Virtual Classroom: 4 sessions 3-1/2 hours each
Prereqs:

Experience modeling with SolidWorks


Topics Covered

Geometric Non-linear

  • Large displacement problems
  • Large strain formulation

Material Non-linear

Material models covered

  • Nonlinear elasticity
  • Hyper-elasticity (Mooney –Rivlin, Ogden)
  • Plasticity (Von Mises, isotropic/kinematic/mixed hardening rules)
  • Temperature dependent material properties
  • Visco-elastic and creep

Boundary Non-linear

  • 3D nonlinear gap / contact analysis (with or without material non-linear)

Numerical Techniques 

  • Solution control techniques (force, displacement, and Arc-length controls)
  • Equilibrium iteration schemes (Newton-Raphson, modified Newton –Raphson)

Viewing Results

  • Deflected shape plots
  • Displacement and stress contour plots
  • Create Animation
  • X-Y plots for response quantities Isoplanes and section

 

At Course Completion
Students will be able to use SolidWorks Simulation Premium to simulate the behavior of Non-Linear Materials.
